I was assigned an American city - in my case, that was Anchorage, Alaska - and was tasked with creating a brand identity for a hypothetical 2038 Winter Olympic Games taking place there. The project lasted for the entire Spring 2026 semester, beginning with an intensive research phase lasting several weeks in which I ideated three main possible visual directions for the brand. From there, I did several rounds of revision to the brand identity, receiving feedback from my peers and my professor as I went. This culminated in a professional-grade pitch that I gave to three panelists from design organizations in Upstate SC in early April. After this, I finalized the visual identity in a brand book that lays out clear guidelines for the hypothetical use of each element of the brand.
